Anterio Sloan (UK Commit) Video
The video quality isn't the best, but he plays corner on defense. Very aggressive.
Brice Laughlin (3-Star DT) Commits to Kentucky
Three Star Defensive Tackle, Brice Laughlin, has committed to play for UK next season. Laughlin (Summersville, SC) is listed at 6'3" and 270lbs. Laughlin had previously been committed to Maryland, but changed his mind after a visit to UK this past weekend. UK now has 21 commits for 2010. Sunday, December 6, 2009

Four Star Cornerback, Anterio Sloan, has committed to play for Kentucky next season. Sloan had previously been committed to Nebraska before committing to the Cats. Sloan recently received an in-home visit from the UK coaching staff and attended the UNC-UK basketball Saturday. Another great pick up by the UK coaching staff. Dale Trimble (3-Star CB) picks Kentucky

Cats bound for Music City; opponent unknown
Chip Cosby writes about the Cats heading back to Nashville to play in the Music City Bowl. However, UK's opponent is unclear at this point. Music City executive director, Scott Ramsey, said the loser of the ACC Championship would likely end up playing in the bowl. If the Cats don't play either Clemson or Georgia Tech, then North Carolina appears to be the other likely candidate. Who would you like to see the Cats play?Wednesday, December 2, 2009
Derrick Locke Ready for the NFL?
Derrick Locke has the Big Blue Nation wondering if he will return for his senior season. After his Facebook comment yesterday, I started thinking that Derrick Locke should call Jodie Meeks for some advice. In Jodie's case, it worked out as he did receive a guaranteed contract. Would the same happen for Locke? Can the speedster have a better season next year than he had this year? After all, John Conner won't be back next season. The Cats are also losing four starting offensive linemen. Can Derrick Locke's value become higher by returning for his senior campaign? Please feel free to comment. It's pretty slow right now on the football front as most outlets are shifting their gears towards basketball. However, it's now slow behind the scenes. The UK football team will resume practice this weekend as the coaching staff is on the road making in home visits with players. There will be a dead period soon for football recruiting, therefore this week is crucial for making visits. This weekend is a huge football recruiting weekend for UK and the program should receive some verbal commitments afterwards. UK is in the mix again with several 4-star recruits and names are starting to pop up that we haven't heard before. The football recruiting landscape is very different than basketball, so stay tuned. As we have already seen with Notre Dame, when a coaching change is made, recruits tend to look around. There will be more coaching changes and more recruits to become available.
Unofficially, UK is headed to the Music City Bowl as the SEC won't make it official until this weekend. Everyone I know is making reservations in Nashville. It appears FSU is headed to the Gator Bowl and UK will end up playing North Carolina or Miami instead. I would love to take on the Heels for personal reasons (I lived in Charlotte many years and hate the fan base), but I agree with Kentucky Tailgating (poster on this site), a win over Miami is probably bigger for the program and helps with Florida recruiting.
I will be out of pocket for a few days so blog updates will be spotty at best. I will be sending out updates on Twitter. You can sign up to follow me or keep viewing twitter thread on this blog. Thanks for the continued support!

UK headed back to Music City?
As the Big Blue Nation waits for the Bowl bids to be released, it appears UK is headed back to Nashville once again. Considering there were so many SEC teams sitting at 7-5, the Music City Bowl is a huge opportunity for UK football program. Why? The game is on Sunday at 8pm EST on ESPN2 and could possibly be Bobby Bowden's last college football game. There are some who wanted a Spurrier vs. Bowden matchup, but all indications are UK will be in Nashville. Music City President, Scott Ramsey, stated the Cats are "very high" on their wish list and "very optimistic" they will be. Bowl Picture taking shape?
Some initial reports are starting to come out regarding the SEC Bowl picture. With Florida and Alabama locks for BCS bids, the chips are starting to fall. The initial reports claim the Outback Bowl has selected Auburn. Many thought Tennessee would receive that bid. While we all would love to see the Cats play in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl, it will be tough for them to pass up Georgia, Tennessee or even South Carolina. Assuming the Chick-Fil-A Bowl doesn't give the Cats an early Christmas present, let's hope the Music City folks don't let down the Big Blue Nation. After all, Cat fans have been good to Nashville in the past. Tuesday UK Football Links and Notes
Mark Story has an interesting article which compares UK to Alabama on the grid iron. In his article, Story continues to talk about the Tennessee loss and places blame on the "Kentucky brain trust". Believe me, I'm tired of losing to Tennessee too. Yes, Randall Cobb could have been used more in the last drive and in over time. It didn't happen, it's not because the coaches didn't want to win. Tennessee out played UK in the second half, just like UK did against Georgia. The loss can't fall 100% on the coaching staff. More and more it's sounding like the Cats are headed back to Nashville for the Music City Bowl. I would love to see UK play in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl, but I think South Carolina or Georgia may receive the bid. Personally, I have no problem with the Music City Bowl if that is where the Cats end up. Based on the article, I love the national exposure.
In case you missed my tweet yesterday, 4-Star Cornerback, Anterio Sloan will be visiting UK this weekend. Sloan just received an in-home visit from UK and it really high on the Cats right now. With all of the coaching changes about to take place, we could possibly see some recruits take a second look at UK.
UK has added another visitor to an already long list of recruits for this weekend. Brice Laughlin a three star defensive tackle (Summersville, SC) will be visiting the Cats. Laughlin has currently given his verbal to Maryland, but hopefully the Cats can make a big impression this weekend.
UK recruit P.J. Clyburn (Statesville, NC) received an offer from North Carolina recently. Clyburn has admitted that UNC is his dream school. Based on reports, Butch Davis and his staff are going to meet with Clyburn this week and a commitment could follow. UK had been recruiting Clyburn for a while and the Cats appeared to be in the mix until the Heels offered.
