Preview Auburn GAME #6
The 6th game of the season finds Auburn at Kentucky. Last year, the Wildcats spanked Auburn on their home turf; this year, The War Eagle looks to return the favor.
Auburn returns 7 players on both offense and defense, however, they may actually come into Commonwealth Stadium with 2-3 losses for the season before taking on the CATS (losses to Clemson, providing Parker returns as the QB, South Carolina, and possibly Miss. State). The Offense, led by Blinn college transfer Cam Newton (3,000 passing yards and a total of 28 TDs in 09)seem to be loaded with talent on the O-line and weapons as well. Auburn will run a spread type offense with Newton, and this will be a true test for the rest of the season. If Kentucky can slow down Auburn, it will be a game.
The Auburn defense also returns several players; however, unlike previous years, there does not seem to be any real difference makers which can dictate the tempo of the game. Both Kentucky and Auburn are better this year, but look for Kentucky to win a close one.
Why Kentucky will win: Home field advantage, and intensity. Auburn will come in assuming the win and again get shocked by not realizing that the CATS are for real.
