Brett Dawson writes that UK plans to be ready for No. 3 Bama. UK has never faced back to back opponents ranked that high. When Rich Brooks was asked to compare Florida versus Alabama he stated, "They're not any worse". Based on the players comments, they are embarrassed and want to show they are a better team.
The Cincinnati Enquirer asked the question all Big Blue fans want to know; will UK bounce back, or his a wall? I like Corey Peters comments, "You can either let this ruin your season, or you can step up and use it to drive you to work harder."
John Clay takes a look at 10 no-so-fun stats from the UK-Florida game. The worst in my opinion is the 2.8 yards per rush followed by the 2.84 yards per offensive play by the UK offense. UK must establish some type of running game, which will be a tougher task against Alabama than Florida. I still believe that UK needs to stretch the field with Chris Matthews and take their chances. Heck, if UK is playing Alabama, a team they are not supposed to beat, we should try to throw a few haymakers and give Matthews a chance to make a play.
John Clay also reports three key points from Rich Brooks' press conference today. He will not forget the first quarter of the Florida game, preparing for Alabama is a little easier because they are conventional and Julio Jones lining up against Trevard Lindley will make for a great match up. Also, Clay provides the UK-Bama stat comparisons so far this season.
ESPN takes a look at what we learned about the SEC during week four. Yes, Tim Tebow is human. It sure does appear that Florida and Alabama are on a collision course for the SEC title and it appears that both LSU and Ole Miss are a little overrated at this time. Also ESPN has updated their SEC power rankings and UK comes in at No. 10.
The Kentucky vs. South Carolina match up will be televised at 12:30pm on Fox Sports Network.
Larry Vaught has a nice article on a couple of the recruits who visited UK this weekend. Kentucky has been recruiting Austin Collinsworth hard and has told him that he will have the opportunity to play running back at the next level. Also, Byron Bennett (3-Star DL) currently list UK in his top five, but ranks Alabama, Texas Tech, Syracuse, Ole-Miss ahead of the Cats. Finally, Vaught is also reporting that UK is evaluating Corbin, Kentucky RB/LB Caleb Watkins. Watkins is being recruited by Ball State, Western Kentucky, Cincinnati, UK, Bowling Green, Louisville and Vanderbilt.
