UK's defense was not the problem

Steve Brown drew up a good game plan against Clemson and held C.J. Spiller in check for most of the game. UK played without Sam Maxwell, who had been their defensive spark plug and managed to get good play from the linebackers. UK's defense was solid, yes Trevard Lindley fell down covering Jacoby Ford and there were some missed tackles, but overall a solid performance by the defense.

After the first drive, UK's offense looked like they were playing their first game. Morgan Newton played hard, but missed some throws. The UK offensive line didn't impose their will like most expected and the receivers looked like they have all year. Chris Matthews, Randall Cobb and Gene McCaskill all dropped balls at key times which kept the offense from getting into a rhythm. It's going to be a long off-season for UK.
