Avery Williamson (2010 UK Commit) Update

I spoke to Avery Williamson (3-Star MLB) from Milan, TN today. Avery told me that he is finished with the recruiting process and would be signing is LOI on Wednesday to Kentucky. Avery said he was, "UK all the way". I asked Avery if any other schools had tried to get involved and he told me "it wouldn't have mattered".

The staff is planning on playing Avery at middle linebacker, but he could move to the outside at some point too. Avery said the coaches are sending him a playbook to study. Avery will move to Lexington in June to start working out with the team. I asked Avery about his overall game and he told me, "Strength and Speed". Avery said he runs a 4.62 forty and already as strong as many of the linebackers on campus now. Avery feels like he can come in and contribute as a true freshman.

He also told me that Tyler Robinson would be his roommate at Kentucky and that Tyler felt like he did about other schools trying to get involved. Randy Sanders handled Avery's recruitment for Kentucky. Avery also told me that his high school teammate (2011 recruit) Christian Coleman (6'4" and 250lb DL) was being recruited by UK. He said that Coleman was suppose to attend UK's junior day this weekend and attend UK's summer camp.

I asked Avery what's the one thing he wanted fans to know and he said, "It's going to be an exciting four years and he hopes to make a lot of memories".

Avery is a well spoken kid who is considering a major in the medical field. He will be an impact player at UK and one of the top players in the 2010 class in my opinion.

  1. Got to love this kids potential. Sounds like he could be a leader of the team in the future as well. Looking forward to seeing him on the field

  2. Thia is GREAT news. He was the one kid in this class that I was most concerned about losing. I think he is going to be a very good one.
