NOTE TO FANS

Please feel free to email us with any ideas, or suggestions that you may have to make the site better, or to addess a specific area of the team that you think thay we may be missing.

It is very dead right now, but will be picking up by the end of the week.

Aaron is away on one of his infamous vacations and has entrusted me with this thing! (hey, we may even make some crap up over here while he is gone and then say we got hacked!!!)

There are some great things about to happen here on the site, so stay tuned! (I am not kidding on this one!)

Go Big Blue

  1. Bill and Aaron, This is an awesome football site for UK news and I come here at least 8-10 times a day! It is 2 weeks til signing day and I think things will get very exciting toward the end. There are two huge rumors floating around tonight- one that DT Thornton from Stephenson in Georgia(already have 3 teammates committed to UK) may visit us this weekend, and that Rock Oliver will come back to be our new strength coach! Either one would be great news, BOTH would be unreal. There are a lot of loose ends in the SEC and a lot of players that bear watching- Mack, Ambles, Priester, Howard, Gibson, Thornton, Lewis, Humphrey, Bennett, etc. It would only take one or two hosses to make this class a very good one. AND, we need to hold on to who we have committed also! There are already some fine players in this class. Rock Oliver might be worth 2 or 3 signees by himself, I hope this turns out to be true. He makes men out of boys the old fashioned way. A visit from Thornton is a VERY close 2nd. on my wish list. Almost like 1A and 1B--- what brothers wore those numbers for the Wildcats under Bear Bryant around 1950? Hint- common names, and from Louisville.

  2. Great site guys - I too check it several times a day.
But I do have to ask - why a vacation now? Just days before the signing day.

Just kidding - enjoy the vacation and get back here soon.

  3. The answer to the UK football trivia question is--- Louisville twins Harry(1A) and Larry Jones(1B). They played for some of our best teams ever in the early 1950's with Babe Parilli and Outland Award winner Bob Gain, and went to Orange, Cotton and Sugar Bowls. IT ISN'T PUBLICIZED BUT WE WON THE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP AND THE FOOTBALL CROWN IN 1951 in at least one poll. Through the decade of the 1950s the head coaches were Paul "Bear" Bryant and Blanton Collier(who later won pro championship with Cleveland Browns). They had assistants Paul Dietzel(LSU), Ermal Allen(Dallas Cowboys), Charlie Bradshaw(UK),Charley McClendon(LSU), Bill Arnsparger(Miami Dolphins),John North(head coach pros), Homer Rice(triple option), Jerry Claiborne(UK head), Howard Schnellenberger(Dolphins, Miami, Louisville and others), Don Shula(I think he coached in the pros too)and Leeman Bennett(Atlanta Falcons)who were mildly successful. Who said we don't have football tradition? Oh, and the QB before Parilli was a guy named George Blanda. For anyone having trouble with piecing this all together, the only pro football team(Dolphins) to go undefeated(17-0) were coached by Shula, and co-ordinators were Arnsparger(DEFENSE) and Schnellenberger(OFFENSE)..Who said Miami of Ohio is the "Cradle of Coaches" ??? Go Cats, Go Joker!
