The Bleacher Reports breaks down the Pre-Season All-Conference Teams for each respective conference. Click on the link to see the entire list. I'm disappointed UK did not have one player on the list. Neither Randall Cobb or Derrick Locke were named to this list. However, both received post season honors this past year. Hopefully in 2010, the Cats won't have to rely on the "Wildcat" to move the ball and Cobb will have more receptions. If Locke stays healthy, he could be the Kick Returner of the Year.

Some of these internet-based sources are more credible than others. Eleven Wildcats were cited on Phil Steele's 2009 all-SEC teams. Seven Wildcats were named to Steele's second team – Randall Cobb, Jorge Gonzalez, Zipp Duncan, Corey Peters, Micah Johnson, Sam Maxwell and Trevard Lindley. Derrick Locke and Stuart Hines were third-team All-SEC picks, while DeQuin Evans and Ryan Tydlacka were chosen for Steele's fourth team.
ReplyDeleteUK has lost some serious talent by way of graduation. But Cobb, Locke, Hines, Evans, and Tydlacka return in 2010. I would add Danny Trevathan, Paul Warford, Winston Guy, Alex Smith, and Joe Mansour to this list of Wildcats who might receive consideration on someone's all-SEC team.
