Tim Patterson was the biggest surprise in the 2010 class for UK's coaching staff. All signs indicated he would sign with Louisville, but in the end Joker Phillips was able to secure his commitment. Patterson played linebacker in high school, but most have projected him to play defensive end in college. Reports are mixed on Patterson’s qualifying status. Assuming Patterson enrolls this summer, he is likely going to redshirt. It's possible he could greyshirt if grades are an issue or attend a prep school. Patterson also continues the Louisville Central recruiting pipeline for UK. He has a tremendous upside due to his size and speed, but will need some time make the transition to defensive end.
