Post Scrimmage Notes

Reports starting to trickle in from UK scrimmage today. It appears Mike Hartline had the best day among the UK quarterbacks. Here are some unofficial stats per Brett Dawson.

Mike Hartline: 10-15, 153 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.

Morgan Newton: 8-16, 116 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Ryan Mossakowski: 5-11, 88 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

Other notes from scrimmage

Mister Cobble suffered a shoulder stinger, hopefully he won't miss any time. He needs the reps this spring as much as anyone.

Martavious Neloms suffered a shin bruise, should not miss any time.

Dave Ullinski suffered a concussion. This will be something to watch and he could sit out of contact drills for a while.

Recruiting News

Also, I heard from Zack Templin (2011-OL) who plays at East Jessamine. He informed me he had an "amazing time" and had great conversations with Joker, Smith and Summers today. He thought UK had great facilities. Templin currently doesn't hold an offer from the Cats. He could be a dark horse for the 2011 class.

Cody Robinson (2011-OL) was on campus and tells me "Junior Day went really good. We had a good time and really enjoyed it." The staff hasn't extended an offer to Cody, but I would expect them to soon. The staff told Cody they wanted to come down and watch him practice this spring. Overall he felt good about the visit.

Check back as I will continue to update this post today.

You can click here to see J.J. Housely's notes on his blog at Kentucky Ink. He gives a good breakdown of how the staff worked players on the field (first, second or third string). Again, it sounds like Hartline is creating seraration in the race.
