Friday's UK Football Notes

Brett Dawson writes about how Florida is wary of the Cats despite lopsided series history. Urban Meyer call Rich Brooks a friend and admits that UK was not good when Brooks first arrived on campus. Meyer gives Brooks a lot of credit for turning the program around and suggests the gap is closing between the two programs.

Eric Crawford writes Randall Cobb must get the ball for the Cats to succeed. I agree with Crawford, Randall Cobb will need 20 touches for the Cats to have a chance. Cobb will need to make plays on punt returns, receiving, rushing and passing. It will take Cobb's best performance yet for the Cats to pull off the upset.

In case you missed it last night, Steve Spurrier mentioned the Cats when talking to Erin Andrews about big wins at South Carolina. Let's all tip our hat to Spurrier for the plug and plan on being the under dog when UK travels to South Carolina in two weeks.

Joker Phillips sent out a twitter message today that he was traveling to Louisville to make the team better. One must assume he is referring to recruiting and Tim Patterson (LB/DE).

The Johnson Brothers (Christian and Micah) will be captains for the Florida Game.

If you haven't been following all week long, below are the football recruits that will be visiting UK this weekend with their Rivals star rankings. Needless to say, it's a huge weekend and the Cats need to show they can compete with the best.

  • Dyjuan Lewis (4-Star WR, Indianapolis, IN)
  • Austin Collinsworth (3-Star Safety, Ft. Thomas, KY)
  • Skyler Schofner (3-Star OL, Sunbury, OH)
  • Tim Patterson (3-Star LB/DE, Louisville, KY)
  • Xavier McFadden (3-Star Cornerback, Rock Hill, SC)
  • Stephan Robinson (2-Star Cornerback/WR, Louisville, KY)
  • Anthony McClung (NR-CB/WR, Indianapolis, IN)
  • Braxton Miller (2011 QB, Huber Heights, OH)
