Thursday's UK Football News

Here is a link to John Clay's blog which has a video of Rich Brooks after practice today.

Larry Vaught writes a nice article about Lones Sieber and the famous chest bump by Rich Brooks. The kicking game has been a major concern for the coaching staff and let's hope we see more Rich Brooks' chest bumps this weekend with Sieber. Hopefully one at the end of the 4th QTR.

Brett Dawson writes about the UK-UF match up this weekend and how Tennessee had some success on defense. No doubt, Monte Kiffin created some confusing looks for Tim Tebow, but I don't think the Cats have the ability with their defensive line to run the schemes that Tennessee ran. UK's strength is in the secondary and at the linebacker position. UK needs to simply hang around in this game and not give up the big play on defense. Look for Danny Trevathan's speed to really be a factor from the linebacker position against Florida. In the end, hopefully Rich Brooks is giving another chest bump to Sieber for hitting the winning field goal.

In case you missed it yesterday, UK received a commitment from safety Davin Hawkins out of Alabama. Hawkins was being recruited by several schools including UAB, Vanderbilt and Southern Miss while some other bigger schools were getting involved.

Finally, UK will have several key football recruits in town this weekend so a good showing will go a long way towards signing these prospects. The current list of visitors include, Skyler Schofner (OL), Dyjuan Lewis (WR), Austin Collinsworth (S), Braxton Miller (QB-2011), Tim Patterson (DE/OLB) and teammate Stefan Robinson (CB). If anymore names are confirmed, I will post immediately.

GO CATS!
