Friday UK Football Links and Notes

The Cincinnati Enquirer writes that Fidler isn't QB heir, apparently. Will Fidler and Morgan Newton were roommates during fall camp and Fidler continues to support Newton. Fans should support both Newton and Fidler as both will see action Saturday.

Alabama Live writes that Tommy Tuberville could be on the short list if a coaching change is made at Louisville. Also, the article talks about Derrick Locke practicing and being ready for Saturday.

ESPN's Chris Low gives his second-half outlook on the Cats and is pretty fair. Low predicts the Cats to finish 7-5 and play in the Papa John's Bowl. I feel the Cats have a good chance to finish 8-4 and predicted the Cats to have eight wins before the season started.

In case you missed it, UK received a commitment from Georgia athlete Alvin Davis. Davis has the size, athleticism and grades to be the ideal student athlete. Also, schools like Florida and LSU were starting to show interest. UK wasn't the only SEC offer either, Mississippi State had offered the defensive end as well.

Stuart Hines and Paul Warford will be game captains Saturday.

Also, the poll closed on who should be the starting QB Saturday against La-Monroe. Here are the results, Morgan Newton (44%), Combination Newton, Fidler and Cobb (34%), Will Fidler (16%) and Randall Cobb (3%). Thank you to everyone who voted.
