Brett Dawson has a nice article that breaks down UK's loss to South Carolina yesterday. I was in attendance at the game and UK clearly could have, should have won this game. The loss puts UK's record at 2-3 (0-3) and makes next Saturday's game against Auburn a must win. In Dawson's article, Joker Phillips points out "everybody" wanted a change referring to the fan base on Hartline. Corey Peters also suspects that some fans are happy about Hartline's injury, which in my opinion is sad. Hartline was playing well and his loss was a huge blow to the Cats offensive game. Will Fidler gave it his all, but he simply doesn't get the reps in practice that Hartline does. Randall Cobb played with heart and a desire to win that needs to become contagious. I have heard fans say that this team doesn't know how to win. This team battled until the very end and as a fan I am proud of this team. When Hartline was injured, the team could have given up, but they didn't. We could talk about the two dropped touchdowns, the missed interception, the snap infraction, Hartline's injury, Lindley, Warford, not leaving Randall Cobb at QB for the 2-pt conversion, but the bottom line is UK still had the opportunity to win and didn't. When playing on the road in the SEC, teams can't allow opportunities to slip through their fingers.
