Sunday UK Football Links and Notes

ESPN's Chris Low gives the Cats a shout out after defeating Georgia. Low has been really good at picking SEC games the past few weeks and picked Georgia to win this one. Well, the Cats won and ended Low's streak at the same time.

Chip Cosby writes about UK stunning Georgia 34-27. I would love to have been a fly on the wall to hear what Rich Brooks said at halftime. UK looked like a different team in the second half. Moncell Allen's forced turnover to start the second half was the game changer in my opinion. That play alone set the tone for the second half.

Larry Vaught writes Georgia goes down to Kentucky. This has to be one of Rich Brooks' top three wins at Kentucky. The Cats need to enjoy this win for about 24hrs and get ready for Tennessee. The Vols don't want UK to make history again next weekend.

Paw-Paw has his signature road win now. If you watched the game on ESPN2, the fans were holding a sign that read, "In Paw-Paw we Trust". Give the coaching staff credit for making adjustments at half time and motivating the team.

Larry Vaught gives some interesting stats for the game, season and history for Kentucky. How about Morgan Newton? He is 5-1 as UK's starting quarterback. Any chance he backs up Hartline next year?

Brett Dawson writes Cobb's TD caps UK's comeback win against Georgia. For someone who was questionable before the game, Cobb sure looked good to me. How about Sam Maxwell? He is the most underrated player on the team. Maxwell played all over the field and come up with another interception.

If UK can knock off Tennessee next weekend, the Cats are likely headed to the Outback Bowl or Chick-Fil-A Bowl. If UK loses, they are likely headed back to the Music City Bowl.

The Cats missed on another big recruiting target for 2010 in Skyler Schofner. The three star offensive lineman picked Michigan State. That makes two key recruiting targets the Cats have lost to the Spartans for 2010. Isaiah Lewis gave his commitment to Michigan State earlier this season. Hopefully, UK will still recruit them and get them on campus for an official visit. I'm sure this win will help recruiting, especially in the state of Georgia.
