UK-Vandy Halftime Update

I didn't get to make the trip to Nashville, but I'm watching the game and wanted to make a quick post. UK simply needs to concentrate and play smarter. Here are a couple of topics that keep being text and emailed to me from followers:
  1. Quarterback- The coaching staff needs to stick with one, I prefer Morgan Newton at this point. Hartline hasn't looked good at all.
  2. Batted Balls at line: The offensive line needs hold their blocks and if necessary UK needs to roll out the quarterback. Vanderbilt is smart, they know they must do the small things in order to win.
  3. Fumbles: UK needs to simply recover the ball and not try to pick it up and run, especially when field position is so crucial. Need better Football IQ.
  4. Wildcat: UK can't run the "Wildcat" every play, however Cobb needs more touches, but it can't be the every down offense.
  5. Lindley: He was in position and 9 out of 10 times that ball will not be caught for a TD, however the receiver made a great play.
  6. Defense: The defense isn't playing bad, Vandy is controlling the time of possession which could become an issue in the second half. UK must find a way to get a score on defense.
Now it's "gut-check" time for the Cats. You can sign up to follow me on Twitter in the right side bar if you like.

  1. Amazing that in the second half, they stuck with one QB (the right one) and we moved the ball effectively.
