Here is a nice article by Chip Cosby on the recruiting battle that is about to heat up between the Cats and Cards. Both Charlie Strong and Joker Phillips were assistants at South Carolina and have been very successful recruiting. Last week, Strong received a commitment from 2011 quarterback DaMarcus Smith (Louisville, KY). However, Joker fired right back by landing 2011 athlete Jon Davis (Louisville, KY). It will be interesting to watch these two great recruiters compete against each other over the next couple of years. Both schools are still recruiting Tim Patterson (LB/DE), Austin Collinsworth (RB/S), Miles Simpson (RB), Rajaan Bennett (RB), Maudrecus Humphrey (WR) and Chris Sharpe (CB) for 2010. One thing is clear, the college football landscape in the state of Kentucky is changing quickly.
