More Recruiting Notes

The Cats wrapped up practice this week and the coaches are on the recruiting trail visiting players. UK received their 22nd commitment from Mike Douglas (3-Star DE) on Sunday. Also, there was a report that Austin Collinsworth had committed to UK, but the report seems false at this point.

UK now has commitments from four players that could potentially play defensive end in college. It makes me wonder where the Cats stand with Tim Patterson? I'm sure Charlie Strong is making a big push to land Patterson.

Rob Gidel reported via twitter that Rajaan Bennett hasn't heard from UK in a couple of weeks. Bennett seems to have the body to make a good SEC running back. With the Cats running out of scholarships, Bennett may not be at the top of the list. The four star running back is also considering Vanderbilt and East Carolina.

UK is showing some interest in defensive tackle Tony Gillespie (Juco) from Coffeyville, KS. He plays at the same Juco school that Mark Crawford attended before joining the Cats.
