Will Coaching Changes Help UK's Recruiting?

With college football programs beginning to play musical chairs with their head coaches, we could see commitments open their recruitment back up. The two schools that could have the biggest impact on UK would be Cincinnati and Louisville.

UK had offered Four-Star receiver, Dyjuan Lewis, before he committed to Cincinnati. The Cats were in the mix and if Kelly takes the Notre Dame job, UK could find themselves in the race again. UK had offered Three Star running back, Quan Weaver, before he chose the Cards. Could UK find themselves back in the mix for Weaver's services?

There are several recruits still considering UK along with Cincinnati and Louisville. The highest profile recruits would be Tim Patterson (DE), Miles Simpson (RB) and Austin Collinsworth (RB/S). All three are from the state of Kentucky and Charlie Strong would love to make a statement by landing commitments from all three players. It is possible that both Strong and Kelly bring some players with them, but it's not as likely in football as basketball.

Stay Tuned.

  1. Would definitely be nice for this staff to be able to grab a couple of those for a statement themselves. Strong is going to offer stiff competition in recruiting. Cinci really depends on who they get as head coach.

  2. Aaron, do you have any updates on Rajaan Bennett? It seems like he is high on Kentucky and vice versa. Just wondering if you have heard anything.

As usual, thanks for all that you do.

  3. Bennett seems high on the Cats and they are trying to work out a visit date. I think there is a good chance he commits to UK after his visit.
