I spoke with Antonio Andrews (Fort Campbell, KY) today. Andrews was UK's Mr. Football for 2009. He told me that Air Force, Western Kentucky and Louisville were his top three at the moment. Antonio visited Louisville this past weekend and said that Charlie Strong kept it "real" and was "very honest". Both Louisville and Air Force are recruiting him to play quarterback while Western Kentucky is recruiting him an an athlete.I asked Antonio if UK had recruited him and he told me, "I don't care about them anymore". He feels like he is the most underrated player in the state of Kentucky. UK has told him that he could walk-on, but Antonio wants a scholarship. Antonio told me that he is 5'11" and weighs 195lbs and runs a 4.5 forty time. He is not sure if he will enroll during the summer or not, but does plan to compete as a true freshman.
It seemed as if he was disappointed that UK hadn't offered him a scholarship. He was hoping for more offers after being named Mr. Football. He told me that Auburn was his favorite school growing up, but the Tigers haven't expressed any interest at this point in his recruitment.
