  1. Saw Pike play linebacker vs Cov Cath this year, best player on the field. Not sure if he is bright enough to be a top flight QB, too much of a head case is my understanding, Dad is Mark Pike, who played for Buffalo Bills/Ga Tech, Dixie grad.

  2. Aaron, you are way ahead of everyone else in beginning to break down Joker's 2012 recruiting board. You should be congratulated again on the great work you are doing on this website. Always an enjoyable read here.

We can attempt an early guess regarding the number of available scholarships in 2012 by considering the projected class of 2011 UK scholarship seniors:

    Mychal Bailey
    Chandler Burden
    Randall Burden
    Randall Cobb
    Mark Crawford
    Josh Gibbs
    Antwane Glenn
    Winston Guy
    Stuart Hines
    Jake Lanefski
    Matt Lentz
    Gene McCaskill
    Greg Meisner
    Anthony Mosley
    Billy Joe Murphy
    Matt Roark
    Taiedo Smith
    Ronnie Sneed
    Antonio Thomas
    Danny Trevathan
    Ryan Tydlacka
    Greg Wilson

The list above contains 22 names. The 2011 scholarship senior class could increase if current walk-ons like Ryan Wallace and Nick Melillo receive scholarships. And I am not sure yet about Terrell Combs' class. Or, the number could decrease through the inevitable roster attrition.

But if one had to make an educated guess at this early point, it appears fairly certain that UK will graduate a large senior class in 2011, perhaps opening up a full allotment of scholarships for Joker's 2012 signing class.

  3. The Towles kid is a quarterback from Highlands which finished I think finished the season ranked 3rd in the nation in a USA Toaday poll. He will not be a secret much longer as he has been invited to several camps this spring and summer. Right now this sophomore os 6'5 210. This kid will have many options. I'm sure Coach Phillips is aware of Patrick Towles.
