Kal Prince (2011 UK Recruit) Update

I just spoke to Kal Prince (Owensboro, KY) regarding his recruitment. He told me he doesn't have any offers yet, but receiving interest from Kentucky, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Cincinnati, Western Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky. He has already taken unofficial visits to each school and will take one to Western Kentucky tomorrow. Kal was invited to Western Kentucky and UK's junior day but was unable to make it due to his basketball schedule. He may attend Notre Dame's junior day in March as well.

Kal's dad played at UK with Joker Phillips and he has known Joker his whole life. Kal told me "playing time and location to home" will be the biggest factors in selecting a school. Kal plans on attending the Elite 11 Camp and Nike Camp in Alabama this spring. I asked Kal if he planned on attending any school camps and he told me, "only if they offer".

Kal has already taken his ACT and scored a 24 and will take it again in March. He could graduate early depending on the school and situation. He really wants to graduate with his friends, so it would have to be a special opportunity for him to do so. Kal seems like a great kid, he was very well spoken and should have a bright future ahead of him.

UK is definitely in the mix to land the quarterback. Kal seemed a little concerned because UK has limited scholarships for 2011. He told me he would love to have a shot to play quarterback, but would be willing to play receiver or tight end if necessary. Ideally, he would like to have his college decision made over the summer.
