Kal Prince (2011 UK Recruit) Update

Kal Prince was named a Honorable Mention quarterback at the U.S. Army National Combine in Texas. The combine had over 500 potential recruits, therefore to finish in the top 15 among quarterbacks speaks highly of his performance. Prince had a great visit with Western Kentucky today and the Hilltoppers could be close to offering him a scholarship for 2011. Coach Taggart is handling his recruitment.

  1. Aaron, where do you see Prince being rated when the rankings come out? I would guess that he would be a high three star. Do you think this combine performance could help push him to the four star level?

    Thanks,

  2. Not Aaron, here, but i would be very surprised if he is higher than a 3-star, if that. he may be a great kid and a very smart QB, but his mechanics need a LOT of work. Also, if you look at his video posted further down below, he consistantly under-throws his receivers. They are always waiting on the ball or coming back for it.

This kid will certainly be playing QB on Saturday afternoons somewhere. I'm just not too sure it will be in the SEC.

    But, what do I know?

  3. With family ties to UK and needing some work I think he would be a great pick up. We are set for at least 3 years at QB. He could be a RS JR and 3 years in the system. If the potential is there we have the luxury of letting incoming recruits learn the system and get coached up now. Top 15 QB amongst 500 recruits bodes well. Im sure at least 150-200 were QBs attending the combine. Im diggin this kid! 6'3", 235, around a 4.6 40 time, and a legacy yeah I like him.

  4. I think Prince will likely be a 2-3 star recruit. Most kids from Kentucky get the shaft by Rivals. However, with Notre Dame recruiting him, he could be rated higher. He has all of the tools to be a really good QB. Randy Sanders could really help him too. If he commits to UK, then he redshirts his first year (my opinion). UK has to decide if they are going to offer him as a QB or Athlete. I think the Cats should offer him soon.
