Reports are coming out that Tee Martin will be the next receivers coach at Kentucky. In my opinion, this is huge for recruiting as Martin works the Elite 11 camps as well. New Mexico newpapers are already confirming it.

This seems like a great hire. Aaron or Bill can you all comment about your take on how this might affect recruiting for 2011. I know we want to sign a quality quarterback next year, perhaps this will help.
ReplyDeleteAs usual, thanks for all that you all do with the site. Your coverage yesterday was great.

James,
ReplyDeleteI think Tee Martin will be a huge additon to the program. Martin and Sanders have a great respect for each other. Martin works the Elite 11 QB Camp and won a National Title. He knows and understands the SEC. He's also a breath of fresh air. I don't mean this in a bad way, but his younger and the recruits like dealing with "cooler" guys.
I know UK is after Shamir Jeffery (SC, QB). He is also related to Alshon Jeffery who plays for SC. Jeffrey wants to play QB and UK is the only school at this time who has offered him a shot at QB. Everyone else is recruiting him to be an athlete.
I'm suprised Martin isn't going to be the QB coach instead. I trust Joker.

I met Tee a couple of years ago here in Knoxville. Very nice guy. A good selling point that he and Randy could work is that Randy helped Tee win a National Championship when Peyton Manning did not.
