Chances are if you are following this site you're a football die hard and already know UK didn't sign any wide receivers in the 2010 class. While Raymond Sanders and Jerrell Priester could line up in the slot position from time to time, they are not likely going to convert to full-time receivers. Below are receivers UK is recruiting or have been rumored to be involved with for 2011.
Hakeem Flowers (Wade Hampton HS, SC) is one of the top receivers in the country. While I would love to see UK land Flowers, it's not realistic at this point based on the schools recruiting him and the visits he has already taken.
Charone Peake (Dorman HS, SC) is another top receiver in the Southeast. He already has his list of schools down to three and the Cats are not in the race. For what it's worth, my money is on Clemson to land Peake.
Danny Woodson and Darryl Collins (both from Alabama) have announced they will suit up for the Tide in 2011. Both are big time receivers who had offers from UK. Regardless, it's time to move on.
DeVante Parker (Louisville, KY) has already committed to Charlie Strong for 2011, but the Cats haven't given up on his recruitment either. Parker is special and it's been a long time since the Bluegrass state has produced an athlete of his caliber. My early guess is Parker will stick with the Cards unless they have a horrible year.
DeAnthony Arnett (Saginaw, MI) has visited UK for Junior Day and will be back on campus soon for spring football. He is a difference maker and has the potential to play early in college. Personally, I feel he is a long shot for the Cats. He currently lists USC, Notre Dame and Michigan State in his top three.
Alex Chisum (Sandy Creek, GA) plans on visiting both Kentucky and Louisville for spring football. Chisum is another top receiving recruit in the Southeast and is receiving a lot of attention. I like UK's chances of landing Chisum over Arnett right now.
K. J. Brent (Marvin Ridge HS, NC) is one of the top recruits in the state and UK doesn't really have a connection to Brent. Joker didn't recruit NC as it's not one of their priority states. My guess is Brent ends up at North Carolina or Clemson for 2011.
Collins Moore (Bob Jones HS, AL) recently received an offer from UK. Some feel the Cats moved to Moore when Darryl Collins committed to Alabama. UK is the only SEC offer the standout receiver right now.
Ja'Juan Story (Brooksville, FL) has an offer from UK, but also holds offers from the big in-state schools as well. UK hasn't been able to pull many recruits from the Sunshine State, but will try to with Story. He already has the ideal frame to play receiver at the next level.
Some other names to keep an eye on for 2011 are; Jesse York (FL), Cooper Harrington (AL), Bubba Tandy (KY), Kyle Heggs (NJ), Gabriel Nimmons (OH), Christian Jones (TX). Also, there are a couple of receivers who play at Miami Central, FL (UK connection) who could be on the radar. I doubt UK will go the Juco route in 2011 unless the recruit can enroll early. Justin Bean, who committed to UK in the 2008 class, could be a possibility as well as his teammate, Darius Slay.
