Marcus Helm (2011-RB) Recruit Update

I recently did an interview with Marcus Helm (DuPont Manual HS, KY) about his football recruitment. Marcus told me the process was going well and he was considering three main schools as of now. His list includes Kentucky, Louisville and Virginia in no particular order. He plans on visiting Virginia during his spring break.

UK could be a player for Marcus as he wants to major in Physical Therapy. However, the Cats haven't extended an offer yet. Marcus feels all three programs are on the rise and have a lot of upside with new head coaches. He told me, "I'm looking for a school where I naturally fit in."

This summer Marcus plans on attending camps at each school as well as other surrounding colleges (Vandy). He doesn't plan to make any decisions until the end of his senior season, but offers could speed up the process. He grew up a Louisville fan and went to the Orange Bowl (as a fan). However, he admits being a fan of Joker Phillips.

Marcus is currently 5'9" and 185lbs. He runs a 4.5 forty-yard dash. Most schools are recruiting him as a running back. He has already taken the ACT, but hasn't received his results. One side note of interest is he attends the same church as Charlie Strong.
