West receives offer from Tennessee

Zach West (2011-OL) informed me today that Tennessee has extended a scholarship to him. West is in Knoxville today visiting and plans to make a decision before his season starts. West continues to build on his impressive offer sheet.

    I hope we don't lose this guy just because we waited so darn long to offer. Did you get any feel for his level of interest in UK?

    Zach is deserving of the offer from Coach Dooley, but I will be surprised if Zach takes it. I think Zach will sign with UK, UL, or Penn State. To a certain extent, this may depend on how much Mike Summers wants Zach. If UK recruits Zach hard this summer, I think he probably becomes a Cat.

    BTW, I disagree with the anonymous poster above who says UK took a long time to offer Zach. In reality, UK offered Zach early. Granted that Penn State and UL offered him even earlier. However, UK has a new OL coach, and it would have been nuts for UK to offer Zach a scholarship before Coach Summers was ready to do so. As things stand now, there is a much greater chance that Zach will sign with UK than that he would sign with Tennessee.
