Vols beat Cats...again...30-24 in OT. ESPN said after the game, "UK may never beat Tennessee". I still think UK will beat Tennessee before Randall Cobb finishes his career at UK. A lot people are questioning Joker's play calling at the end of regulation. Personally, I feel that you win and lose with your best player when the game is on the line.
Cobb denied chance to win it for UK writes Mark Story. With so much on the line, UK doesn't run the Wildcat. The Cats were 10 yards away from victory and had to settle for a game tying field goal. UK's offense struggled all night with Morgan Newton at quarterback. Newton had trouble with accuracy and continues to have trouble running against SEC defenses.
Cobb wanted to be second in the SEC East. Cobb felt the team choked in the second half and wasn't focused. In my opinion, UK played like a team trying not to lose, rather than a team trying to win. Click on the link for Larry Vaught's article.
There are six SEC teams with seven wins that must be placed into the Outback, Chick-Fil-A, Music City, Liberty, Papa John's and Independence Bowls. Where will UK go? My guess is that UK ends up at the Music City or Liberty Bowl.
Was this Rich Brooks last game at Commonwealth Stadium? Many people are speculating the coach will hand over the keys to Joker Phillips after this season. My guess is that Brooks sticks around another season.
