Updates

Since our last update both Tarik Cook (Stephenson HS, GA) committed to Central Florida and Kiaro Holts pick North Carolina. I was a little surprised Cook committed so early in the process. Based on interviews with his former teammates, it sounded like he was very interested in UK. I personally believe the Cats were a long shot with Holts. Brandon Shell narrowed his list of schools and the Cats didn’t make the cut. Cody Robinson and Zach West are still taking visits and could decide by the end of summer. James Robinson is new to the list. He plays at City College in San Fransisco. Mike Summer is recruiting the players from City College so it’s possible he could receive an offer from the Cats.

Most likely to be a Cat

Darrian Miller appears to be solid to Kentucky. After Miller, I feel the Cats are most likely to sign Zach West, Cody Robinson and Nick Martin. With that said, it wouldn’t surprise me to see Martin end up in South Bend either.

  1. Just a slight correction. I would bet my life -- and yours, too -- that Martin does NOT end up in South Bend. The only schools in South Bend are IUSB and Ivy Tech, and neither one fields a football team. Notre Dame is in nearby Notre Dame, IN. They are too good and too special to be anywhere but there own private little city.

  2. Aaron, I dont think Martin or Cody Robinson commit to UK. West could, but I also think he ends up some where else. I think that they maybe get one of the guys they have already offered and the other OL commits from offers after the season starts. I was at the UK Camp to see two of our (Boyle Co.) OL perform and the Kid from East Jessamine dominated. I Dont know why they havent offered him yet. Great size and can really move.

  3. I'll assume your talking about Zack Templin. Yes, the staff hasn't offered yet, but still evaluating him. It's no secret, Zack wants to go to UK and if they offer he is a Cat. Zack has also attended camps at EKU, WKU, UK, Louisville and Marshall. This kid is strong, I don't understand why he doesn't have an offer yet either. He will play guard at the next level. The one thing Templin has is passion. My gut says Martin won't commit to UK, but I think the Cats have a shot with Robinson. I still think West becomes a Cat when it's all said and done.

  4. Zack Templin and Coach Summers have built a great relationship and he is still recruiting him. He was told that his camp performance was great and he really helped himself. UK got involved late so they haven't seen him play. IMO they are waiting to see what Zach West is going to do.
