Preview Akron Game #3

Game 3, of the 2010 season sees the Akron Zips travel to UK (along with new coach Rob Ianello previously from Notre Dame) to take on the Kentucky Wildcats at Commonwealth Stadium. The Zips return 17 starters for their pro style offense which ranked 119th last year. Having experienced 4 straight losing seasons (they went 3-9 in 2009), Akron looks to turn around it's fortunes this year and go bowling.

The team only returns 1 WR (Jeremy LaFrance) out of it's Top 5 at the position, but does have several RBs that are playmakers with talent. An experienced Oline returns 3 starters which should make Sophomore QB Patrick Nicely's job easier than last year (he also has another year's worth of experience which is never a bad thing).

The Defensive line (one of the strengths of the team) returns 3 starters (James Harvey, Hasan Hazmine, and Almondo Sewell) while the MLB (Brian Wagner 132 tackles as a Freshman in 09) also returns to give the Zips experience. They actually return 11 of their 15 top tacklers from the 09 season which should make them much better for the 10 season than the 09 season.

The Zips look to come into Commonwealth and rob one from the Wildcats. The team is a MAC team that is ranked at the bottom of their conference, so beating up UK seems to be too much to ask for this year. The Zips might win 5-6 games, one of them will not be aginst Kentucky.
