Tuesday Night UK Football Links & Notes

The Missourian has a nice article on the Cats with some great quotes from the coaches and players. My favorite in the article is by Justin Jeffries: "We know we can be a good team, but we've just got to keep proving it, Everybody doesn't believe just yet, so we've got to get everybody on the bandwagon." I agree with Jeffries, the media and some fans are suspect, but if the team can keep winning, everyone will jump on the bandwagon.

Chip Cosby writes that UK's Fidler is a standup backup. After leading UK to a win on the road at Auburn, I expected the coaches to name Will Fidler the new starter. Rich Brooks stated that Fidler would play during the first half of Saturday's game. Maybe Rich Brooks knows the fans will cheer loud for Fidler when he enters the game and wants the the QB to feel some "UK love" from the Big Blue Nation?

ESPN's Chris Low gives his mid-season SEC breakdown and has good things to say about the Cats. UK fans realize that the schedule didn't set up well for the Cats to start the season. However, if the Cats can carry the momentum from the Auburn win into Saturday, who knows how strong the team can finish? 7-5, 8-4 or 9-3? What do you think?

The Winchester Sun writes that you should never count Rich Brooks or the Cats out. As long as UK has playmakers like Randall Cobb and Derrick Locke on the field they are always in the game.

Rich Brooks says both QB's did "good things" against Auburn per Larry Vaught's article. Rich Brooks was impressed with Morgan Newton's poise as a true freshman starting on the road. Brooks praised Fidler and felt that the red-shirt junior managed the game well.
