Wednesday Night UK Football Links and Notes

Morgan Newton will have something in common with UL-Monroe starter Cody Wells on Saturday. Wells like Newton, will make his first career start on the road in the SEC. The Warhawks will be without their starting QB, Trey Revell, due to a thumb injury. Commonwealth Stadium needs to be rockin'. This game will provide the fans with an opportunity to be the 12th man.

Who is UK's number 1 celebrity fan? Larry Vaught has a great article that would make the case for Eddie Montgomery. After reading the article, it's hard to question Eddie's fanhood. Maybe Eddie will start wearing blue on stage.

Will Fidler is the ultimate team player and has earned a lot of respect around the Commonwealth. Rich Brooks says Fidler handled the "slap in the face" like a team player. This is a great article with quotes from Rich Brooks and Will Fidler. In my opinion, the fans need to give Fidler a standing ovation when he enters the game on Saturday.

Danny Trevathan is drawing comparisons to Wesley Woodyard. Trevathan has the speed and the ability to be a big time playmaker in the SEC. Chuck Smith says that Trevathan works his butt off and loves to practice. Trevathan has developed a relationship with Woodyard and has a lot of respect for the NFL playmaker.

The Cincinnati Enquirer hands out grades for Kentucky and Louisville thus far in the season. The article gives the Cats a "C+" and the Cards a "D". I think if UK had won at South Carolina they would have received a "B+".

The Kentucky vs. Eastern Kentucky game on October 7th will be played at 1pm. The game will be televised live in Lexington and Hazard. If more info becomes available, I will update.
