Derrick Locke Ready for the NFL?

Derrick Locke has the Big Blue Nation wondering if he will return for his senior season. After his Facebook comment yesterday, I started thinking that Derrick Locke should call Jodie Meeks for some advice. In Jodie's case, it worked out as he did receive a guaranteed contract. Would the same happen for Locke? Can the speedster have a better season next year than he had this year? After all, John Conner won't be back next season. The Cats are also losing four starting offensive linemen. Can Derrick Locke's value become higher by returning for his senior campaign? Please feel free to comment.

  2. I hope Locke takes a look at C.J. Spiller from Clemson. He improved his draft status a ton by returning to school. Come back DL!

  3. I want the guy to come back, but I couldn't blame him if he left. The reasons you stated are good reasons to take a shot at the NFL. His injuries would be another. He knows he is one hit from being done for good and has come close to that already.Plus, I think he could find a spot right now on an NFL team as a return man. His speed is hard to find.

Having said that, I really hope he does too. losing that experience on the O line and John Conner will hurt, but you can't help but think Newton will be a lot better as well as the other skill positions. Also, the freshman running back whose name escapes me at the moment (it is too early)is going to be very good too I think.

  4. I do not think he is ready. He has to prove he can take some hits after being injured last year. The NFL is going up in competition, not down.

  5. Locke has more he can show the NFL scouts. He needs to catch more balls and return more kicks. Remember, he has a family so his situation is different than most. Donald Russell would be the freshman to receive more carries.

  6. All the more reason to return for another year and show that he can succeed in the NFL. If he is not drafted or a low pick, he likely will have a tough go of it in the long run.
