Wednesday UK Football Links and Notes

It's pretty slow right now on the football front as most outlets are shifting their gears towards basketball. However, it's now slow behind the scenes. The UK football team will resume practice this weekend as the coaching staff is on the road making in home visits with players. There will be a dead period soon for football recruiting, therefore this week is crucial for making visits.

This weekend is a huge football recruiting weekend for UK and the program should receive some verbal commitments afterwards. UK is in the mix again with several 4-star recruits and names are starting to pop up that we haven't heard before. The football recruiting landscape is very different than basketball, so stay tuned. As we have already seen with Notre Dame, when a coaching change is made, recruits tend to look around. There will be more coaching changes and more recruits to become available.

Unofficially, UK is headed to the Music City Bowl as the SEC won't make it official until this weekend. Everyone I know is making reservations in Nashville. It appears FSU is headed to the Gator Bowl and UK will end up playing North Carolina or Miami instead. I would love to take on the Heels for personal reasons (I lived in Charlotte many years and hate the fan base), but I agree with Kentucky Tailgating (poster on this site), a win over Miami is probably bigger for the program and helps with Florida recruiting.

I will be out of pocket for a few days so blog updates will be spotty at best. I will be sending out updates on Twitter. You can sign up to follow me or keep viewing twitter thread on this blog. Thanks for the continued support!
