Jerrell Moore (2011-ATH) Recruit Update

Today I had a nice interview with Jerrell Moore (Louisville, KY) who plays at Fern Creek High School. Jerrell confirmed he has given his verbal to Louisville for 2011, however he is not going to finalize his decision until signing day. Currently he has offers from Kentucky, Louisville and Eastern Michigan. He feels both Oregon and Illinois are close to offering as well.

Jerrell plans on attending a few combines in the future (Chicago) in hopes to "get my name out more". One thing I learned during our interview is not all schools are recruiting him to play running back. He told me Kentucky is recruiting him to play running back, while Louisville and Illinois are recruiting him to play Slot Receiver and Special Teams.

I asked Jerrell if he had a preference on position and he told me "I'm not sure I want to be an every down type of back". He wants to get in the open field where he could do some damage with his speed. Jerrell is a speed demon and currently runs a 4.4 forty-yard dash. He feels he can get his time down to 4.35 with more work. He compares his game to Percy Harvin (former Gator), but it sounds like he would be comparable to current UK commit Raymond Sanders or Derrick Locke.

He plans on visiting Louisville and Illinois over spring break and was unable to attend UK's Junior Day. He also confirmed his teammates (Jamon Brown and Jalen Harrington) are looking to play together in college. UK is really pursuing Brown, but it's unclear about Harrington. Jerrell told me he has received letters from each member of UK and UL's staff.

Jerrell was born in Indiana, therefore he is neutral when it comes to the UK vs. UL rivalry. He wants to play at a school in which he can be the most effective. He likes both UK and Louisville's offensive style. Based on our conversation, it sounds like Charlie Strong has made a big impact on him.
