Zach West informed me last night he would be taking visits to Tennessee, Notre Dame and Louisville (2nd time) soon. West still does not have an offer from UK, but most expect the staff to offer at some point. There have been some rumors that UK has given West a "silent" offer, but that is crazy. Considering Louisville and Penn State have already offered, there is no reason to think Zach is holding a "silent" offer. While I have a ton of faith in the the UK coaching staff, they must protect their back yard on this situation.

This recruit is speculated to be at least a 3 star player.
ReplyDeleteWe lost a bunch of starters from last year that were 2 star out of high school.
Does UK think it is going to start getting all 4 star lineman. I do not.
We were going to take a 3 star lineman last year. Then, they changed their mind and went somewhere else.
If this player is good enough to play for UK. What is the wait?
I've heard the staff is concerned about the level of competition he has faced in high school. I think that's BS, especially when he holds offers from Louisville and Penn State. The staff is involved with several big time prospects. Keep your fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteIn reality, all D-1 scholarship offers are "silent" since a school's coaching staff cannot discuss a prospect publicly until he has signed and returned his LOI on the NCAA signing date.
ReplyDeleteThe staff is not concerned about the level of competition Zach West has faced in high school. If they were worried about that issue, they would obviously not have offered a scholarship to Darrian Miller.
Zack West is a quality prospect. Everyone knows that. But UK has a limited number of scholarships available in the 2011 class. Mike Summers is an expert at evaluation of OL talent. Not to worry.
