Last night I interviewed Marcus Caffey (Grady, Ga) who holds 13 offers from various programs. In particular he mentioned offers from Vanderbilt, Kentucky, South Carolina, Purdue, Wake Forest, Arkansas and Maryland. He does not have a favorite at this point and is talking to other schools who have not offered.
Marcus and his family are trying to plan trips to visit schools over the next couple of months. In particular he mentioned South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest. Marcus informed me he is looking for coaches who are "genuine and honest" and "somewhere like it's home". He also told me playing time is important and he truly doesn't have a position preference. He informed me UK was recruiting him as a cornerback while others are recruiting him as a running back.
David Turner is handling Caffey's recruitment and he plans to decide before signing day. It sounds like he hoped to have a decision made before his season, but wants to get around see more schools before he makes his final decision.
Caffey grew up rooting for South Carolina and Clemson. He is currently 6'0" and 186 lbs. He runs a 4.48 forty yard dash time.
