2010 UK Football Schedule

Here is a quick snap shot of the 2010 UK Football Schedule. It appears the Cats have five games that should be "locks" to win. The Cats get Auburn, South Carolina and Georgia at home which will determine their bowl destiny. The Cats need to win at least one of these home games and one on the road against Ole Miss, Miss State or Tennessee. The open week isn't doing the Cats any favors against this season. Basically, the Cats won't get a break until the end of the season, which will give the staff more time to prepare for Tennessee. I could see the Cats winning 7 or 8 games, but I could also them fighting to become bowl eligible for a fifth consecutive season.

09/04 @ Louisville
09/11 Western Kentucky
09/18 Akron
09/25 @ Florida
10/02 @ Ole Miss
10/09 Auburn
10/16 South Carolina
10/23 Georgia
10/30 @ Miss State
11/06 Charleston Southern
11/13 Vanderbilt
11/20 OPEN WEEK
11/27 @ Tennessee

  1. I think that this is at least a more favorable schedule than last year. Alabama looks to be the best team in the league next year so we are fortunate not to play them. Vandy, USC, UGA, and Auburn at home are all winnable games (I'm certainly not suggesting that we will win all four of these games, just that we will have a reasonable shot at each).

I think that Miss St. on the road will be tough but we will be upset about last year's loss. The open week before Tenn and possible bowl implications make that an exciting opportunity. I also feel that UF and Ole Miss on the road are not impossible, especially after the departure of Mr. Tebow to the NFL.

I think that a lot of our success will depend on the development of a dependable quarterback and growth of our up-and-coming players on defense.

I think we have a great shot at a 6 to 8 win season.

Thanks for all that you do Aaron and Bill!

  2. Being optimistic here:

Wins (7): Louisville, WKU, Akron, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Charleston Southern, Vanderbilt.

    Losses (1): Florida.

Swing Games (4): Ole Miss, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee.

*Overall, I see 7-5 on the low end & a chance for 10 wins on the high end. The SEC is always brutal & unforgiving, but I agree w/ the previous poster that this year's schedule is more favorable & that we are slowly, steadily climbing our way up the SEC Ladder! If we can get back to the 8th win this year, a plus. If we can get the 9th win this year, big step. If we can get teh 10th win this year, that would be BIG-TIME in our efforts to move up the SEC Ladder!
