Tuesday UK Football Links and Notes

Mark Story has an interesting article which compares UK to Alabama on the grid iron. In his article, Story continues to talk about the Tennessee loss and places blame on the "Kentucky brain trust". Believe me, I'm tired of losing to Tennessee too. Yes, Randall Cobb could have been used more in the last drive and in over time. It didn't happen, it's not because the coaches didn't want to win. Tennessee out played UK in the second half, just like UK did against Georgia. The loss can't fall 100% on the coaching staff.

More and more it's sounding like the Cats are headed back to Nashville for the Music City Bowl. I would love to see UK play in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl, but I think South Carolina or Georgia may receive the bid. Personally, I have no problem with the Music City Bowl if that is where the Cats end up. Based on the article, I love the national exposure.

In case you missed my tweet yesterday, 4-Star Cornerback, Anterio Sloan will be visiting UK this weekend. Sloan just received an in-home visit from UK and it really high on the Cats right now. With all of the coaching changes about to take place, we could possibly see some recruits take a second look at UK.

UK has added another visitor to an already long list of recruits for this weekend. Brice Laughlin a three star defensive tackle (Summersville, SC) will be visiting the Cats. Laughlin has currently given his verbal to Maryland, but hopefully the Cats can make a big impression this weekend.

UK recruit P.J. Clyburn (Statesville, NC) received an offer from North Carolina recently. Clyburn has admitted that UNC is his dream school. Based on reports, Butch Davis and his staff are going to meet with Clyburn this week and a commitment could follow. UK had been recruiting Clyburn for a while and the Cats appeared to be in the mix until the Heels offered.

  1. Recruiting seems to be getting a slight up tick which is nice. Hopefully we can get some good ones this weekend.

I too would love to see UK in Atlanta. However, it will be hard to see them not choosing UGA after they beat Tech. And a matchup between UK/UNC might generate some talk. Even though I think a win over Miami would speak more because of the standing of that program.
